Response to Mercury trans needed

 

1958 LM Production-



The CRUISE-O-MATIC was redesigned again in 1961 introducing the modulator valve. All production before that was Throttle Valve.

The MERC-O-MATIC is Single-Range whereas the MULTI-DRIVE is Dual Range. It is a stronger-heavier (main case) transmission compared to the FOM/COM. TURBO-DRIVE (Single-Range) and TWIN TURBO-DRIVE (Dual Range) were LINCOLN specific (LX).

I have no info on EDSEL other than a TELETOUCH TSB. I would guess thay were a mix of COM and MOM.
