| Don't stop there. Pull the breaker plate..I think it's held on with a couple screws through the side of the distributor. Make sure the weights move freely, and the lobe mechanism pivots freely. Under the rotor is a felt wick..remove it, and there's a clip that holds the lobe on the distributor shaft. Feel free to remove and clean it. Notice the lobe can go on 2 ways, so keep it oriented properly.
Once done, you probably have 12 degrees in the distributor..24 degrees crankshaft. CHECK full advance..you probably want 28-30 degrees unless you're running 93 octane. |
