does ethanol laced fuel separate when it sits? I'll assume the gasoline is lighter, and rises to the top. If so, You're trying to start your boat on alcohol, until enough gasoline gets mixed in to vaporize and ignite?
alcohol (ethanol) makes a lousy fuel for various reasons. Yes, it helps extend petroleum reserves, but the 10% ethanol is there as an oxygenator, replacing MTBE. It effectively leans out the mixture, which is not a problem in digitally controlled engines, but can play havoc with the dinosaurs we run. |
