Sounds good. The ballast resistor is to reduce current thru the points, reducing pitting.
Set your choke setting a little tighter. If it's an electric choke, it will start to open as soon as the coil starts to heat. the coil starts to heat as soon as the ignition is turned on, unless it is routed through an oil pressure switch like the factory stuff. I've noticed my chokes starting to open before the engine lights off.
Ethanol laced fuel doesn't light off well anyhow. |
