Timing Gear?

Hi Folks,
how can i check if my Timing gear ist worn out, in my MEL462? can I hear it?

Hi,

It is done visually, you will need to remove the water pump to see....

The ODO say´s 53000 and it could be ok, the "Gutachter"said.
