Response to Early MEL Camshafts

I believe I have the cam with the .251 lobe lift. I know it came out of a '57 year production, which I assume was the early design. Not sure if it is the cam with the problems you described with spring bind.
I had contacted PST about cam replacement that they offered. They had 2 different grinds. One,was with a 484 lift. The other was 509 lift, which he said had an idle with lope. Both of these cams have higher total lift, not sure where they come up with these cams as replacements.
I have an early 430 block with lower deck height and was concerned with valve to piston clearance issues.
Now considering what you had mentioned about sending cam to Oregon for rework. The specs for the Marauder 375hp I would like to get. I don't know what to tell Oregon Cams to regrind to. Open for suggestions. Tom
