Wow, I'm speechless. You're a hero Rick. Not exactly a rust free Ca car. This challenge will take a lot of work and $$$. Thank you so much for one more great illustrated restoration story you're sharing with us. Like your other stories, this is another very interesting thread on an beautiful car that will also attract even those who are not interested in this particular model car. Bringing back a wreck into a state that even exceeds its' condition when it was new is a fascinating process to watch.
Great great articles of yours and a great gift to the web archives.
Ride on

Week 2;
This week consisted of more tearing down of trim / interior.
Drivetrain.
Another document find this, and the decal for the Newberg mascot from the school leads me to think that the mileage on the speedometer is correct.

Cool. You have the time and space to do what a lot of us wish we were doing. It's great to see projects like this and that you are able to take the time to document and share it.

Looks like a lot of work especially with all that rust. That's a project that the average mortal usually doesn't step in. One more vintage beauty you're preserving for the world. I wish more people had the resources to do this. Thanks.

Week 5,
Tore down the pink 2door and it is in much rougher condition than the convertible. That being said, it still had a lot of parts that are either missing or damaged on the convertible; solid battery tray, solid RH inner fender, solid doors, some very nice bright work, exhaust hangars, clips, retainers, hardware, rim for spare tire, etc. It's amazing how nice some of the parts were considering the shape of the rest of the car.
Found some markings on "The Streak". What appears to be "Ta1", "TG1", "T91", or "T61" on the lower firewall. I'd like to know what the "T?1" means.
- Conv. firewall markings
- 2 Door parts car firewall markings
Deciphered to be the trim code and build date on the LH cowl "242 10" I figured this out by double checking with the 2door and what I could make out as the bottom of a 3, bottom of a five, top of a 3, and a 4, which matched up to the trim code and build date on its data tag.
- Conv Cowl markings 242 10
There are some faint red marks in the center of the pic on the tranny hump. I can't decipher much from these. There may be a 3 in there. On the Colony Park there is was a very distinct 48 with some more numbers being possible. The final digits of the VIN are 544822. On the convertible the final digits are 536023. Perhaps the numbers are supposed to be the build #? Any retired line workers out there that might have the answer?
- Conv floor markings
Next week photos of all the parts taken off and begin cannibalizing the 4 door. Also start getting together all the parts which will be sent out for rebuild, and we should know when the frame and body can be brought in for stripping. We are going to be trying a different method for blasting the body this time.

We are taking this car apart further than the Colony Park!
One of the doors...
Out of three cars this is one of the better ones.
