Hello! New to the site.

Feel free to introduce yourself. No obligation off course, but a nice way to get known to you a little. It's allways good to know your first name. Jeff or John sounds better than, "hey linc58prm2_1......"

Hello! New to the site.

My name is Jeremy Grist and my grandfather raced a chopped top '41 Willys Coupe in A/Gas in the early 60's of SoCal using a stroked 501" 430 MEL engine. They broke many naturally aspirated records of that time. My grandfather, Floyd, and my great uncle, Ralph, made up the Grist Bros team. My grandfather passed away in '74, before I was born, and my great uncle, Ralph is still alive today. He has taught me quite a bit about Fords as I have won a couple of events in my fox Mustangs over the years.

I am here to learn more about the MEL engines. There weren't any MEL engines around for me to mess with growing up, so I'd kind of like to go back a little and learn about what they were made of, and why my family chose to use them in their A/Gas Willys.

So, thanks in advance for the welcome, I hope to someday build a stroked 430 like my grandfather did.

Welcome Jeremy,
I think "Grist Bros II " is a cool nick considering the intersting history it refers to. Thanks for sharing it with us. It's good to see the MEL world getting together little by little.
Have fun.
Best regards
