Hello, my name is Bill. I live in Bucks County Pa. Just purchased a 58 Mercury and hope to be able to share my new Adventure with the forum. It is in need of a complete restoration but interior is good, some rust, no dents and motor was pulled by previous owner because it ran hot and got vapor lock. It has 63,000 miles on it. I should have it home in a few days. I'll post some pictures and hopefully some of you MEL Masters might be able to guide a new inexperienced soul along the way. Looking forward to the interchange and have to say, I've been reading your forum and have already learned a lot and am LOVIN IT!!! Thanks, Dozer430

Hello Bill,
Congratulations on your purchase. When doing a complete restoration consider that it is not going to happen overnight. With mine it took 3 1/2 years. Hopefully yours goes smoothly!

Welcome to the forum Bill. I split part of the conversation to go in a different section. With the slightly edited subject It might attract more readers w. the focus on ID and parts. There it is

Hi, Just picked up an original Super Marauder intake with original 2 outer carbs. center carb is missing as well as linkage. If I cant find original Carb, is there a preferred replacement that would do the job? I have a few 2300 carbs off 58 and 59 Edsel and Tbird. What about aftermarket linkage? Is it fitted to the settup or does it have to be custom made. What other components do I need to find in the meantime to get a working unit. thanks, Dozer430

Hello Bill,

Joe Bunetic is the guy for the linkage. You will find information on him in numerous threads on the forum. There is none better.

You'll also need the fuel pump. Which a reproduction can be had from Lincoln Old Parts Store. And if you need the Air Cover he has done reproductions of those also. They might have the center carb..
