Here`s my ride, all dusty and fine It`s not the best pictures because we`re reorganizing our workshop, so the space is not the best at the moment. I`m rebuilding my 462 engine. Cylinders bored .030. crankshaft (what ever job called in english) .010.
Gonna replace all 4 fenders, if i can find some that are in better shape than those i have. A New paintjob. And hopefully get a better Steering Column. Had it on the road the summer I bought it (two and a half years ago), but desided to start a minor restoration. Took out the engine and dismounted to find out that two of the pistons were broken/busted. Chips at the size of a fingernail had come of and the upper rings were there nothing left of. Great!! The idiot who had it before me had not been nice to it! Anyway I`m hopeing to have it on the road before the summer.

So you had the crankshaft ground to 0.010. Fredrik, this roject doesn't look like a minor restoration. It looks more like a major restoration. The engine block looks as clean as they used to look like after an acid tank clean up. They used this very effective procedure in the old days before the environmental cut down on agressive methods took place.
To get it as clean as it looks on your pics you usually have to use a wire brush and a good portion of muscle work.
Some close up pics of the cylinder heads and the pistons would be great. Also some pics of the water pump duct in the block would be interesting. To input some data into our Knowledge base it would be nice if you could tell us the castingnumbers on the block and on the heads.

More pics are coming. I have sent the heads away to a guy to work on them and the pistons and rebuildkit is sent form New Jersey to Norway this week (by boat so i should have it early i February). The Block was put in a partwasher and cleaned with hot water and some solvents. And yes it`s a major restoration, but it started as a minor one. But as you probably know is starts as a small job and just keep getting bigger as new things reveals it self along with the dismounting...

Absolutely. In the worst case t can become a mix of a ruinous and desperate adiction.
