430 Crank without PS drive?

Post by Wowcars » Mon 20. Aug 2012, 11:08

On my '54, I don't want to run the original crank driven power steering pump. Is there a way to not mount the pump or a different crank (and possibly timing cover) to eliminate the power steering?

I had a timing cover on a 383 without the pump, it also had a different adapter sleeve on the crankshaft . That engine came from a '58 Mercury. I assume that car must have come without power steering. I have also gutted the internals from the pump and run just the housing with success.
