My 430 overhaul...

Post by t_of_sweden » Fri 29. Mar 2013, 06:09

Some pictures of my 430 overhaul...

Some from the garage and a couple from the engine work shop called "Birka Motorrenoveringar" in Stockholm, Sweden...

No text between the pictures, the picture tells it all...

The engine was in a horrible condition and the guy at the engine work shop said to me when he had done his job that
"You didn't come her with a bad working engine, you came here with something wich was doing some turns
for you so you could move forward"...

The crankshaft now has 0.010" oversize and the pistons 0.030"

Thanks for sharing. That engine should last another 50 years.

It looks like you went with the flat top pistons. Is that correct? Are you going to dyno the motor before installing?

Yes, it is the flatties and...
No, I'm not gonna dyna it first.
It will be a "first time startup" the classic way for about 20-30 minutes in different RPMs.

Some idiot had penetrated the right valve cover with a screwdriver to get rid of exhausts coming trough the piston rings to the oil pan and made a own ventilation upp to the air filter for the exhausts..
The holes should be welded and moulded with tin before panting...

Nice movie! Glad you're back. Would you like to expand on the choice of music? What was good, bad, or ugly about this build?
