462 C6
The main case/mounting bell was unique to the 462.

compatible parts
are parts for the ford c6 (such as rebuild kits, torque converter, pans) compatible with my c6? it seems hard to find anything specifically for the 66 462 trans

Maybe?
I believe the MEL C6 is almost identical to the regular C6 other than the main case, and that only differing on the bolt pattern to the block.
Is it possible you have a TWIN-TURBO? Is the bell and main case one piece (aluminum) or two separate pieces? Do you see a metal assembly I.D. tag on the servo cover?

I know this is an old thread, but just for future reference.
The trans is the same as any other early C6 except, the case, tailhousing and output shaft are unique. Case for bolt pattern, tailhousing for mount and three spline yolk with linear bearings.
The tailhousing and output are a direct swap to any other C6.
Also original lincoln forward clutch friction plates are a coarse spline as are other early C6 units. This is easily updated to the later fine spline by using a later input planet internal gear.
