Advantage of running an aluminum flywheel?

Post by 56vicky430 » Tue 3. Feb 2009, 12:03

Is there any advantage to running an aluminum flywheel on a 430? Won't a stock FE flywheel suit the need equally?

Welcome to the forum. A stock flywheel will do the job perfectly. I can see no reason why an aluminum flywheel would be superior.
Is there any product that you came across that you can link us, so we can get an impression of the alum. flywheel you consider to use?
Best regards

An aluminum flywheel is used for competition engines due to less reciprocating weight and fast wind-up and requires a high RPM launch. A street car needs a metal flywheel for the stored inertia.
