Pan removal
Pan removal
I recently acquired a 1965 Continental. It was running poorly when it was parked 3 years ago. The previous owner said he thought it had a piston or ring problem but he really did not know. I started the motor recently and it sounded as if one cylinder had no compression and it blew blue smoke out the left exhaust. My question is: To effect this repair can I remove the pan without removing the motor? Any help would be appreciated. Jim

Re: Pan removal
Oil pans are usually removable on almost any motor without having to pull it out. In rare cases you have to raise the engine a little..
Best regards
