trying to figure out which engine i have (430 4v)

Post by stephen p » Tue 24. May 2011, 16:36

hey, i bought a 1962 continental, and i noticed the engine was a factory 4v, with a carter/afb carb. anyhow, it seems like most of the 62 lincolns i've seen were 2 bbl. also, the breather and valve covers are chrome, and all the others i've seen were painted, and if i'm not mistaken the intake was stamped "c3xxxxx" (i need to go get the whole number) which would indicate to me it's a 63 model engine. anyhow. i'm sure it's just a mundayne engine, but i want to make sure it's not anything special before i go selling the car

Post the rest of the numbers after C3, and if you can get the numbers off the block. It might just be the top end that was changed.

I could not find a 62 factory 4v on line. It looks like the C3VE- D intake was used for a few years, 63-65. Intake pictured is from a 65 model. September 20, 1964.
