Both were introduced in '58, and they look similar in some respects...what do they share?

Can you use the recip assembly to build a stroker?

And did someone on this board buy my Super Marauder intake about 4-5 years ago? I think it eventually went to Sweeden, via an acquaintence of the buyer in CA.

Glad someone is keeping track of these incredible engines!

No Relationship
...other than both are "plankhead" styled engines. It is a much larger and heavier engine series. Even the firing order is different from the FE and MEL. I am not sure of the bore spacing, but my guess is that it is greater. The crank and rods of this engine series were made heavy for low RPM useage in heavy truck. There is even a cavity in the skirt casting to accept an air compressor.

The 430 can be stroked to over 500 CI without even taking into consideration the 462 crank.

If I remember correctly...
I wrote to Ford decades ago and asked the Super Duty bore spacing - they said 5.25.
