Saw this site tonight and joined. I've got an altered wheelbase 1957 Ford sedan drag car from the 60's. The motor is a Lincoln 430 with an Algon Fuel Injection, Isky Cam, Joe Hunt magneto, Douglas headers and is being backed by a four speed manual FE tranny. I keep seeing that there are no parts available for these motors but I see them around at swap meets sometimes. Mostly 6x2 or 8x2 intakes. I just missed a set of 12:1 pistons last week but did find a cam blank and a Holman Moody cam. Anybody else on here racing these things? This is my first post obviously. Thanks
Scoob

HI 'YA Scoob!
Not that many racers, mostly guys restoring or upgrading. '57 huh? My favorite. Any chance of some photos and maybe a description (don't throw out any speed secrets ) on your setup?
There is one poster a little farther down on the message board that seems to have pumped one up. He never came back in and gave a description of his engine though (I know how you Top Fuel guys are)
A fellow that frequents another board has a pumped up Super Marauder. Lot of valvetrain work on it.
Do you have a straight axle under it?

Hi guys,
Sorry I've been away for a while. I sold the Algon injection for the 430 to a guy in Washington who is building a lincoln bonneville salt racer.
I switched to a 6x2 carb setup on mine for street friendliness and pulled the engine out of the altered and put it in a 35 Ford. It's been tough finding parts but I've found a few 6x2 setups (still have one extra edelbrock, and know where another is) and using the Crower U-Fab 6x2. I've found a few cam blanks which will come in handy. I've still get the Isky cam in it but trying to figure out what this Holman Moody cam I've got is. Had the Joe Hunt magneto rebuilt and build some zoomie headers out of the Douglas flanges. Wiseco will make forged pistons in any compression for $88 each through the shop rate. I got a Cragar bellhousing to connect the MEL to a T-10 4-speed and I'm going to run a steel Mickey Thompson severe duty flywheel and then an aluminum flywheel on the dyno to see how it does. This is in a 2500 pound car so I'm curious to see how it performs.
I also bought a pretty nice 1967 Lehmann-Peterson Lincoln Limo the other day with another MEL while I was looking for speed parts. Neat old car. I'm getting to really like these motors. The fan club is small and the parts are rare. I'm trying to swing a deal on the Edelbrock 8x2 setup but the guy just doesn't want to sell it yet. If anybody has or needs speed parts, let me know and maybe we can help each other out. Thanks.
Ron
