Does the 430 use special rings or would a set of 4.3" rings from a cadilac 500 work?

There is more than Piston diameter. Each piston has its' own unique specification. Same goes with its' rings.
They are specified by amount, diam., height and depth for that specific piston. If you know the #s you can look for individual sets of rings that meet those specifications. Check out the big ware houses like summit, jegs or Scoggin' dickey. You need to exactly know what you're doing. I recommend you to look for a stck set first before you start your search through the cat.
Good luck
Best regards
