Hi everybody. can't believe that we have no valve diameters listed.Can s.o. chime in with the figures. I'd also like to feed my Desk Top Dyno with the data.

Do you have aftermarket valves installed? From two independent resources I've found out that the MEL valve sizes for Year 1958 are

Intake ...............2,140-2,150" and
Exhaust............ 1.770"-1.780".

Later than 1958 years' valve sizes have been reported to be smaller on the Intake valve while retaining the exh. valve size

Intake ...............2.09?
Exhaust............ 1.770"-1.780".

Valve diameters as listed in my 1959 M-E-L Registered Mechanics Service Specifications Handbook are as follows:
Intake - 2.080-2.090"
Exhaust - 1.770-1.780"

Fantastic, couldn't be any better and good to know you have books. My AERA Cylinder Head and Block" manual is packed but it doesn't list valve diameter numbers. I assume you have that book too. If you don't have it let me know what figures you might need in the future and I'll shoot them into your direction.

Except for my incorrect listing of the post 1959 Intake valve diameter size your latest info on valve diameters corresponds fine with what I've previously listed. Basically valve diameter have only been downsized on the intake side from 1959 on.
Gawd! That year I was a 1 year old su##er with small stck valves that were leaking and suffering from blow by like crazy

So it all melts down to:

Year 1958 MEL Valve Intake ...............2,140-2,150"
Year 1958 MEL Valve Exhaust............ 1.770"-1.780".

Year 1959 MEL Valve Intake................2.080-2.090"
Year 1959 MEL Valve Exhaust.............1.770-1.780"

As far as I know, those valve sizes are original. (2.19 and 1.88) I did not install them and they had old leaded gas seats on the exhaust side. I did replace those seats but did not change the valve size.
I have a set of 59 2 barrel heads at Slover's getting 2.25 and 1.88 valves put in them. Those original valves were smaller than the ones on the tripower engine. TJR
