Hi all,
My 1960 thunderbird 430 has a clicking or taping sound coming from inside my timing cover . Would anyone have any idea what that possibly could be ? Thanks

Maybe it's the fuel pump push rod. Check out this thread

Are you sure it's coming from the timing cover area? Ticking or tapping sounds are typically coming from a collapsed hydraulic lifter.

I HELD A 5/8 PIECE OF HEATER HOSE TO THE TOP LEFT TIMING COVER AS WELL AS OTHER THINGS AND ITS DEFINITLY COMING FROM THE INSIDE TIMING COVER. sorrys caps was on !
Would a worn or improper fuel pump push rod and maybe cam worn also make it tap ?
Do you know the correct length of the fuel pump push rod for this 60 thunderbird 430 ?
thanks

Sorry, I'm afraid that I can't be of help here. I haven't experienced this problem yet. Maybe others can answer this question.
