Baker Lincoln in Connecticut. I talked to the tech help line about 430 pistons, and the guy was rude, and totally unresponsive. He would not answer whether the pistons he had were stepped or flat.

Just a piece of info.

I've learned that if you even mention a custom engine using original speed parts of not...they are not very willing to talk to you. I told them I was building a custom since my car was very very rusty and panels are not available. He went on a spill about why they need to be stock and that my car was probably junk and unsafe anyways...I ended it there. I will probably never do business with them anyways unless I absolutely have to.

He was either hiding the fact the replacement pistons he offered were not correct or was totally unknowledgeable (or possibly both).

I heard and read they should be stepped like stock due to the angle the piston is on; it does not match the heads...I think its 10 degrees difference. Very similar to Chevy's 348/409
