Hose to Air Cleaner

Post by craterranch » Fri 17. Oct 2014, 04:58

Howdy. I'm looking for a source for the hose that goes from the air cleaner to the side of the engine bay. I've got a 383 4-barrel in my '58 Monterey, but I pulled a picture of an Edsel motor off the web and circled what I'm looking for.

The car runs fine without the hose, and most of the other engines I've seen online no longer have this piece so it's obviously not a crucial part. Is it even worth it at all? Is it just a straight run of hose, or is there a filter in it or something? Cheers, MEL forum.

I believe Lincoln Mercury Old Parts Store has them. http://lincolnoldparts.com/

If they don't have it, I used high temp flexible tube from Mcmaster Carr.
