430 lifters

Post by alvin » Wed 16. Jan 2013, 17:38

My 430 has a engine code of4-82qa which if im correct it was built feb. 16 1958, im having a hard time finding the correct lifters, i have the heads off and the machine shop has special ordered new valves, but the lifter from Elgin Industries measure .859 in dia. and 1.848 high and .333 from top of lifter to bottom of cup. The orignal ones are 2 inches high, .375 from top of lifter to bottom of cup, and .875 in dia, they say that is the ifter for a 430, i have called two other places and they do not know the specs. any ideas thanks

I don't have the specs on top of my head. Check the interchangeability charts in the knowledge base section. FE engine lifters as for 390, 427 engines etc. might fit o.k. if my memory serves me right.
