A couple of pictures on my dismantled camshaft, the edges on some tops is defragmented...

The wear shown is the result of a lifter that has worn concave and started cutting on the camshaft, very common with nearly all older engines.If you hold the lifter up to light you will be able to see the concave surface. Yesterdays oils were not that good!
