Tri-power intake manifold value

Post by mercmike » Sun 2. Oct 2011, 16:16

Hi guys, I need some help. I've come across a 430 tri-power looks to be an original Ford and a pair of M chrome valve covers in ok condition, but could use a re-chrome to be mint. Any idea what I should pay? Thanks Mike

The price goes all over the place... a couple of years ago, intakes were going for about 400 dollars, then a year later, I saw one on ebay go for 1500 dollars.... I think a reasonable price is about 700 dollars or so, and the valve covers would be around 400 or so. That is my best guess. (cast aluminum) The total number of the original ford intake, which I have heard was cast by Moon Products, is rumoured to be around 1000 total, but I can't confirm that. The M valve covers would be more common, but since the Moon recasts were about 285 dollars, an original pair of M's, in my opinion, would be worth slightly more. If they are stamped steel, and need to be rechromed, hmmm... 100 bucks.

Just finding one of these intakes is tough, if you want it, don't let it get away.

That's a big help. I can give him a fair offer now. Thanks!
