383 Replacement?

Dear All
When a 383 engine brakes down here in Germany you are in trouble! Unfortunately that happened to our 59 Mercury Montclair. It seems to be impossible to get a replacement so we have to think about an alternative. Does anybody has an idea which crate engine may (nearly) fit?
Appreciate any information and idea.

An FE will bolt up to the transmission but I don't know if your 59 Mercury engine mounts are like a 59 Lincoln or like a 59 FE. For reference here is a 65 430 mounted in place of a 1966 F100 352 FE. If you have a 45° steel thermostat housing it may be a little harder getting the upper hose to fit.
