Home Made Parts Cleaner Agitator

Post by Chris430 » Mon 26. Dec 2016, 12:09

I have an idea for a carb and parts cleaning tub. After another disappointing carb soak results I thought of using an oil pump to agitate the solvent. On the bottom I would use a heating pad from a Cesna.

Question: Has anyone built an agitator for Berryman's using an oil pump? How long will a debris protected Ford FE cast iron oil pump hold up being constantly submerged in the aggressive solvent?
Thanks for any advice.

very creative. I think the fe pump would be fine. I have not had any luck cleaning either except for my friends machine shop. He has a ultra sonic tank and it works great. He cleans my aluminum intakes and they look new. good luck

Overnight used to work in worse cases than this. I used an ultra sonic cleaner where I used to work. The unit we used worked well and was fast.
