Chris Craft boat, 1964
Great photos guys!!!

As you might have guessed, my hobby is boats for the most part.... here are two of the other members of the fleet..

Vanora, (gaelic for 'White Wave') is a 1964 36 foot Chris Craft Challenger. She is powered by twin 283 chev/chris craft marine engines. They are original, and I rebuilt them about five years ago. Vanora weighs 16000 pounds dry, so with 200 gallons of gasoline onboard, 50 gallons of water, and all her gear, she weighs about 10 imperial tons. She will still do her rated speed of 28 mph. At full throttle she consumes about 30 gallons per hour.

The little sailboat is a 1946 William Atkins designed dory ketch, named Dove. She is 17 feet long, and has been completely restored by me over the last couple of years. I have a couple of other projects at the house, but these two ladies get regular use... the third to hit the water will be Mary Elizabeth, the Chris Craft supersport with the 430 MEL.

Beautiful boats. Very classy. Vanora's numbers are impressive. And I thought 5 Gallons per hour with that 25 hp Evinrude out boarder that we once had was a pain, Ha Ha ;)
Nice vessels you got. Why don't you come around next Sunday for some barbecue? ;) We have a waterside in front of the house and a landing stage too.

BTW, I repaired a few broken photo links on page one of this fred. You might want to view the photos that you were missing on your first read. Glad I switched the photo attachment option.

You're looking at one of those hundreds of lakes and sidearms of the River Havel. We live close to "Wannsee" and the "Sacrower Bucht" which are both the same body.
An acquaintance of ours has shipped his sailing yacht to the Baltic sea. You'll have to pass water gates and it takes about a few days.
Thank you for the good words. My daughter Ava is sitting next behind my son, just her hair can be seen. They're both sweet.
We're currently snowed in and life get's pretty chilli out here with all that snow and ice in front of the door.
Here's a pic of the "Sacrower Heilandkirche" an old chappel in our village.
Our neighbour's boat that can be seen in the previous post usually doesn't need a slip out in Winter. It has this whirl device, dunno what they call it.

Been to Germany, flew into Frankfurt, then toured around Bielefeld, Gutersloh, Dusseldorf... a trip I won when I sold Miele appliances... I have their washer and dryer and vacuum still. It was a lovely trip... went down the Rhine in a tourboat, and stayed in Assmanhausen...

Those Miele are good old German classics. Very robust quality. They are still top notch products. So you've been to Germany's most populated areas, eh? Lots of industries there. But like everywhere things have changed a lot. Relocation of plants to the former east block and to the far east, employment and so on. I'm not sure if they still build Miele in Germany for instance. Yes, Germany can be a nice trip. Lots of nice areas to see. And best of all,...NO SPEEDLIMITS !! At least on many routes of the Autobahn. On the other hand it can get very obscene when ridiculously fast medium sized delivery vehicles try to push you to the side even when you're at 120 MIles/hr on your bike. I usually don't want to chicken out and give my K 11 a little more right hand turn to get rid of those mosquitos. He## I think I have to sell this K and save my life.
Auto craze in Germany is going mad. The average travelling speed got extremely fast IMO.

Great impressions Rick. Looks like a lot of fun. I like your porch too. My old eyes see water not far away from the house. Is it a river or a lake?
