58 Merc Park Lane Super Marauder -- Part III Carburetors

Post by scatpack » Wed 3. Aug 2011, 15:42

For "Part III", I have attached images of each carburetor after being restored. Frankly these carburetors only required a thorough cleaning with mild detergent and to be reassembled with new gaskets. I did polish the brass fittings in a vibratory tumbler with a rouge media. What you see in the attached images of the carb bodies are the correct original plating finishes along with the seldom seen or duplicated ink stampings.

I am posting these images as a reference for those looking to restore Super Marauder carburetors to OEM standards. I hope this is helpful.

Setting the float height per the Mercury Service Bulletin specifications with a Carter float tool. It always helps to have the right tools.
