I have a '65 Lincoln Continental 4 Door Hardtop with a 430 in it now. I want to use a Ford 460 or 462. Can this be done? What's required if it is possible?

462 should drop right in.
The 462 is just a 430 bored and stroked. I would suggest trying to get the c6 trans that matches it, just for the convenience of a c6 (they are cheep to rebuild unlike the twin turbo drive and they are lighter)
The 460 is a 385 series motor, they are a night and day difference. You will have hood clearance issues and nothing will bolt up right. I don't know about the 65, but my 62 uses the powersteering to drive the windshield whipers and that just leads to more stuff to fabricate and engineer. If you were willing to put all of the work into it the 460 is a very easy motor to get a lot of power out of because it has so many aftermarket parts, but I still love my many MEL motors.

Thanks for the great info. Any modifications with the C6 Transmission you know of. Do you know what the clearance difference is between the 462 and the 460. I see all the aftermarket parts and they are enticing. I already have to fabricate new lines for the Brake System, Stearing, and Wipers. Are the parts for the 462 hard to come by or are they much more expensive than a 460?

462 C6
The bellhousing pattern is different on a 462 and it's mating C6;

Also, the output shaft and yoke on the slabside Twin-Turbo (LX) are unique and you would have to modify this feature on a later C6 swap.

The 460 used in 1968 required frame modifications from the factory so you would have to allow for that in your 65 LINC also if you decide to go that way.

460 Hood Clearance
There should be no clearance problems as long as the engine is cradled properly and uses the stock intake. The slabside hoodline is really low. Where you see difficulties is when an owner would use an aftermarket aluminum intake with a raised carb pad.
