These are all of the names I have seen listed for this part and yet I cant find a simple replacement part!! I am frustrated. I need this part for an Edsel 58 Corsair. I have the E475 or 410c ;) :) id . Mine has completely rotted through on the hose end. Does anyone know if this part is the same as one found on the later 59--63 Merc 430 and or 390's?? I cant find it under Edsel- maybe if I search for a Mercury of same size?? Any thoughts??
Thanks!!

EDF-8592-A, same as all 1958-59 383, 410 and 430 cid for Mercury. Not sure about 1960, because they might have gone to a coolant reservoir like Ford did that year. Thunderbird appears to have had the coolant reservoir with all the 1958/60 models, so no dice there.

Talk to John Fowlie at Big "M" Auto Salvage in Williams, California, and tell him Gauss sent you.

It's been a long time since I've visited his yard, but he might remember me because I was with Skinner and we took him and his wife out for steaks. Actually, I think Phil treated all of us!

John sold me a nice, original Corsair electric wiper motor and coordinator.

Thanks for posting the information. Mr. Fowlie knew the engine and is looking for one to send me.

I resorted to make my own water neck as this is not available aftermarket.
I put some photos in the Lincoln Restoration section.

Very easy to make, got a 90 deg sch40 bend and cut a piece of it, welded to a short straight section and the flange.

Will outlast the car now with 4x more thickness than the original. Why Ford made those so thin originally?

Cheers

Lincoln Old Parts has the Edsel 410 thermostat housing for $125. I would make my own if I couldn't find one in a wrecking yard.
