Re: Oregon Cam 429CJ hyd regrind for 430

Any comments on a particular grind for a marine engine? I would have to get a regrind of a reverse cam, since the engine is counter rotating to a car engine.

Re: 63-64 430 MEL head and cylinder combustion chamber size

My engine is a 1959 block and head, with the big intake ports on the heads. I had to use an earlier one to accomodate the FoMoCo tripower..... no combustion chamber. You can do the calculations on compression if you have 1. head chamber size 2. head gasket thickness 3. combustion chamber total volum...

Re: 63-64 430 MEL head and cylinder combustion chamber size

I bought my pistons from another member here, after he wanted slightly more compression. This piston is 9.625 to 1, but the work order and forging number may help Wiseco. These are the wiseco work order numbers

Customer no: 136047
Part no: AW-01915
Forging no: F6149TDXA1

Hope this helps

I can look up my work order number on my pistons, that might help Sue with her research. Let me dig it up.

MOON VALVE COVER ALERT

It seems that MOON products are now (re) producing the MEL 430 valve cover as a stock item. For those of you not familiar with this item, MOON products used to produce a cast aluminum polished valve cover for the 430, which is high enough for higher ratio or bulkier roller rockers. A custom run was ...

Re: Edelbrock L300

The middle carburetor is the only one that has idle and choke circuits. The two outer carburetors are 'dumpers' that advance as the linkage asks them to. While the three carburetors may total over 1000 CFM , this is not an indication of comparison between a four barrel carburetor and a tri power. Ho...

Nancy and I have very good seats to see the Beach Boys at the Molson Amphitheatre in June of this year. Only 6000 seats.
