TURNPIKE CRUISER POWER OPTIONSN
The TPC (as did PARKLANE) used the LINC 430 4V as a base engine (360HP). Of course the SUPER MARAUDER was the performance option.

May 25 2005, 11:06 PM Forged Pistons VS Cast The forged piston will give you more durability, especially in a blown or nitrous application. I don't know how hard you plan to run your BIRD with the new engine, but forged gives you a lot more leeway in fuel mixture and timing events. But you also have...

Re: time for the rebuild

25 2005, 12:10 AM 383? May I can't imagine what your dad was thinking. Actually, the 383 and 430 use the same block. Maybe he found a 383 cheap and put the SUPER MARAUDER intake on it? Maybe look around and find a 430 crank? The SUPER MARAUDER was rated at 400HP. I believe EGGE has crank kits. The 3...

OEM Or Speed Parts? No score for this post May 23 2005, 11:50 PM EGGE is going to be the best source for STOCK ENGINE PIECES. Forged pistons are available, although at a higher cost. You have all the nice pieces as for heads and induction. If the rods are redone professionally and all the machine wor...

Re: 1960 Ford T-bird w/ 430 cid

MEL Useage In FORD The LINCOLN 430 was a regular option in 59/60 (limited 1958) in the BIRD as both the LINC and BIRD (uni-body) were assembled at WIXOM. LINC had a dropping sales history during this period (economic recession) and FORD had the extra engines. The engine used is actually a 58/59 LINC...

Re: C6 trans questions

Maybe? I believe the MEL C6 is almost identical to the regular C6 other than the main case, and that only differing on the bolt pattern to the block. Is it possible you have a TWIN-TURBO? Is the bell and main case one piece (aluminum) or two separate pieces? Do you see a metal assembly I.D. tag on t...
