Re: 1959 Parklane Conv. 430 cu in. w/air Frame Off Restoration

The project had been on hold for a few years while others were done. This year the Tri-power was fired up. https://www.facebook.com/677482165607560/videos/3613866395302441/ Next the transmission will be built, and the car will be transferred down to my shop for completion. The air intake duct conca...

Re: Secondary Block Theromostats: 1963 Lincoln 430

A local builder turned his dividers to the block. This forces coolant through the back of the block up through the rear of the head and forward to the front intake crossover. The large intake coolant passage was filled from the rear to front stoping at the crossover leaving it open. It is "plumbed" ...

Re: The best cam grind for MEL

Hey guys! I’m in the midst of building a 61 430 with reworked 58 Edsel heads e.g. ported, bigger valves ect. A Edsel intake manifold and ported exhaust manifolds, electronic ignition the whole ball of wax, my question being. What is a performance grind these engines really respond to? I want to rea...

Re: 1960 Mercury Montclair restoration

Hello Buck,
I see why you like the car. The trim, lines and modest fins are a perfect match. Now I want one. The late model factory rear wheels on the black car look familiar but I can't find a photo of them online.

Re: Replacement oil pump advice?

According to a local builder who has done a few of the MEL engines the FE oil galley modifications can be done to the MEL. I've seen a couple he did. As for an FE I have done a few blocks with 7/16" galleys and all screw in plugs. At times an FE could loose an oil galley plug. One reason for the lat...

I have a few odds and ends but nothing that size. That is some talented paint mixing to duplicate quart by quart.

Re: Early Intake Manifold Score

Your driving comparision with the tall and short manifolds is appreciated. Especially the hold down information. I've never had open spacers work well down low either on an FE. There should be some information here about the 390/428 GT/CJ camshaft re-grind on the MEL camshaft. I'll be out of state f...

Re: Early Intake Manifold Score

I see you were still able to use the accelerator cable. Have you had a chance to check fuel mileage?
