Re: WANTED: Water Pump & Fuel Pump Rebuild Kit

I wonder if a FE kit would work. I have both types to compare. Thanks for the link. It looks like my pump diaphragm was replaced with a piece of tire tube. Unless the tube was petroleum proof it wouldn't work for long.

What Not To Use On Stuck Pistons In The Cylinders

I do not know what was used but it was toxic to the aluminium. If not already covered this would make a good sticky post. Maybe it will keep others from screwing up pistons. Engine did get water at one time. Pictured is the diesel I put in the cylinders. http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff469/whi...

1959 Lincoln 430 For Towing In 1965 F250

I have 1959 430 and a 1965 F250. I have the mounting and the drive train worked out. The od gear will put me 1900 RPM at 70 MPH. The carb will be a Q-Jet or a spread bore Holley for max miles per gallon when running in od. Not concerned with getting it to put out the advertised 350 hp I would howeve...

Re: trying to figure out which engine i have (430 4v)

i finally got the number off of the intake. c3ve 9425-d I could not find a 62 factory 4v on line. It looks like the C3VE- D intake was used for a few years, 63-65. Intake pictured is from a 65 model. Intake Valve Stuck Open & Old Gas

Old gas turns bad and leaves a varnish like coating on intake valve stems that does not burn off. It gums up in the guides. I have personally seen it twice. If you only have a couple gallons of bad gas you can usually get away with filling up with new gas diluting the varnish.

Re: Distributor Interchangability

I have a couple of distributors out to compare. The left distributor is FEU-12127-J from a 1958 332 FE, the right FEW-12127-H from a 1959 430 MEL. They use the same FEK-12378-B vacuum advance and seem to be the same internals. There is a difference in gear to seal distance with the FE being greater....

PBB-7003-F Questions

Good afternoon, I have an LX transmission from what seems to be a 59 Lincoln 430. How does this transmission compare to a C6? If used in place of an FE C-O-M will the gear selector read correctly or be a little off as a C6 would be? If this is a strongest pre-66 automatic transmission, I'll keep it ...

Chris, New To Forum And MEL Engines.

Hello, I came down with a Ford & Lincoln big block adiction in JR High when I was given grandpa's / dad's 65 F100. Around that same time I found a 1968 Motors Manual and became fascinated with the power / torque numbers. After years of running FE's I finally have a 1959 Lincoln 430 / LX transmission...
