1958 383, 410 and 430 had no provision for mid side mounts like the type you have in your pic. They had a front side mount only.
'59 and '60 blocks had both mount locations and the front side positions were used on the 430 Thunderbirds.
Nice piece, sweet valve covers. Bolt it in an run it!

Re: My Blown 430 project
That would be neat, but I like a 4 port! I admit bias, here's my mock up from afew years ago. Still have everything except the Hilborn.
Pay no attention to the 426 Hemi parts. Sold those too, but kept the MEL.

Re: DIY002B retrofitting a new dual master Cylinder.
They don't list a master/booster specifically for a '58 to '60 Lincoln with 4 wheel drum. The pic you posted looks like their model 1501 universal for disc drum. Another source for that assembly is Speedway Motors. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Single-Diaphragm-Brake-Booster-and-Master-Cylinder-Comb...

Re: My Blown 430 project
Electronic. Very sweet, clean unit doesn't stick out. The conversion looks much better than the ones I had looked into years ago that had a plate and looked ugly. The sale price for my Hilborn was too good and I wanted to do the 6V like my other car. But I still have the pieces to support a constant...

Re: My Blown 430 project
Sweet, I have the same basic setup. Except I sold the Hilborn and plan on using three Holley two barrels.

Re: 63-64 430 MEL head and cylinder combustion chamber size
My notes indicate 95cc on the '65 stock piston. Just for fun: When I installed the 383 piston on the 430 crank I checked volume at zero, +090" and + .140" (tdc) to the quench area. Visualizing the quench being at zero deck for all the positions I filled only to the block deck. Came out at 75cc (11.2...

Re: 63-64 430 MEL head and cylinder combustion chamber size
Cool.
I have a Weiand 6-71 intake also.
Mine covers the distributor completely so I'm going to make a cam drive unit.
Is yours similar?
Too bad with Nutter, I had my pistons made at CP with the mock up.

Re: 63-64 430 MEL head and cylinder combustion chamber size
I kinda figured it was for forced induction. Roots or centrifical? Seems like a '65 engine I checked had 98 or so, I can look later in the week for any notes. When I did my '58 engine I used an extra 383 piston which stuck out of the bore on a 430 crank. Then machined it to what I wanted including v...

Re: 63-64 430 MEL head and cylinder combustion chamber size
You'll need 137cc's total with standard bore and a .040" head gasket. 83cc's is about 10.5. with a steel shim
Lincoln Mercury offered an export kit that sandwiched a 3/16" (or so) plate between two steel shim head gaskets to drop compression to 7.

Re: Multi Carb manifolds
Yea the blower manifold was a bit of luck, Ebay win. The late Ted Cyr told me the hardest thing for him to find for his dragster recreation was the intake. Who knows maybe a few will turn up, it seems to go in cycles doesn't it. My plan is to put it into the left over parts car from my '58 Merc 430 ...
