Re: Casting number EDB

Looks like your intake is dated October 12, 1957. If that block matches it is an early 58 which was just before the "box car numbers" 575XXXX. I have heard of some 430 blocks going .120" over and stroked with Jahns pistons. My 1960 - 65 blocks have been good for .015 to .080" over. Maybe yours is on...

7.3 Or 460 ZF To 61-68 MEL?

The starter pockets are about in the same spot. Has anyone mocked up a late 430/462 to a Ford ZF from a pick-up truck?
Thanks

Re: 1958 Edsel and 1966 Lincoln Interchange?

Can I dress my late 462 as an early 410? Primarily I like the early intake without the water neck to expansion tank (going into a non FoMoCo car). Also I will not need the Power steering pump so wondering if I can trade the front cover and delete it? It appears all the valve covers swap as well. St...

Hi, ...1958 Edsel wagon I'd like to put it in and keep the teletouch controls for the transmission. When I get around to it I'll see if I can adapt a C6 to the teletouch controls... Thanks for letting me join! Ken Hello, That would be an interesting modification. If you can hang on ro the 361, ever...

Does 462 heads and intake will improve performance of 430, torq or hp?
Don't know about the fuel miliage but I would think so. I do know the 462 ports are smaller and the 462 heads have a good short turn radius compared to the 430. Smaller ports keep the air/fuel mixture moving faster.

Re: T85 R/11 Borg warner 3 speed OD Manual Trans.

I have a T85 R/11 in a 57 Thunderbird that shifts into overdrive as it should but when it drops out of overdrive at about 25 mph if I accelerate it is like the engine is totally disconnected from the rear axle. This car was last driven in 1970. I rebuilt the engine and am now in the process of gett...

Re: New from Oregon

I was wondering if the 66-68 had a BBF C6 bolt pattern, can you bolt up any manual bellhousing? 462s have the 61-65 pattern cast into it but some are factory tapped for a C-O-M to bolt up to it and some are not. I do not know why that is. The one in draft will likely be a C-O-M pattern (to accommod...

Re: New from Oregon

Hello Fordman,
Sounds like cool project. Keep an eye on this forum for a 61-68 430/462 to manual transmission bell housing. As far as I know nothing has materialized yet but there is one on the table.

Re: 430 MEL restoration

Looks like a normal 58-62 430. Do you still have the 2 barrel? If you want a 4 barrel and by chance you have C6VE (462) heads I have a 462 intake you can have for shipping. I am pretty sure it will not seal on any early heads, has ro be 462 small port heads. Same goes for 63 4 barrel, if I still hav...
