Re: 430 c1v and c4ve interchangeability

From the builders I know custom Wiseco and Diamond recommended. I priced Wiesco pistons for my 59 430 at about $135 each. The only EGGE 410 MEL piston set I have seen had no pin offset. That caused to heavy side of the piston to knock around in the cylinder. That was several years ago, may or may no...

Re: Newb w/ '66 F100

Hello, I have been threatening to put a 430 in my 65 F-250. I mocked everything up in 66 frame a couple of years ago. Is your F-100 a Camper Special? If not and the Dana 60 is original it has the towing package. Non Camper Specials likely didn't have the helper spring pack. The transmission is my ma...

Re: 430 c1v and c4ve interchangeability

Hello, Everything is a bolt in. The difference is 63-65 came with a small combustion chamber in the heads and the pistons had more step. Match the pistons and heads together and you'll be fine. If I am not mistaken the 61-68 MEL camshafts used the same bearings. I believe the blocks themselves are t...

I used edelbrock rpm springs retainers and keepers for big block Chevy. Umbrella valve seals. Fit perfect. Ordered right out of Summit catalog. Tjr

Not crazy about the colors either, however I think they complement the lines and make it work. Can't think of another color that would do that.

Nice Mercury

Re: 1959 Thunderbird piston size

That is an original 4.300" piston. There have been a few comments here concerning rebuilding with the same pistons. Seems these things wear much less with the high gears Ford put in them.

Re: Master Brake Cylinder Question

Ok, so after 3 weeks of searching, and not being able to come up with a brake master cylinder, does anyone know off hand what other master cylinders will fit? It shouldnt be that hard to swap, but it does look like length could be an issue Hello, check out 59lincolnrag post. He has lots of good tip...

Re: 462 M.E.L. engine rebuild

I have no knowledge of there quality but I have seen many of there Ebay adds with the wrong pistons. The only one I know how to get in contact with is Ted Eaton of Eaton Balancing. He has a few technical post of his MEL builds here and at eatonbalancing.com

Check it out.
