Stig, Thanks. It does see a lot of high speed driving on the freeway, it routinely cruises at 60-80mph so that makes sense. I'm going to smack the cylinders in solvent which should free the rings up. Long terms plan to build a hotter engine for the car but for now I'd just like to get the poor thing...

60 Lincoln 430 heads off, burning coolant pics
Hi, Ok, so my 60 Lincoln Premiere coupe has been burning an awful lot of coolant, has white steam blowby and doesn't run all that well. Clearly, we have a problem! Sooo... I just got done pulling the heads, and thisis what I found... Am I crazy or does this not look like an engine that's been burnin...

Well...
I found a low mile tranny from a 59 that I am going through.... Assuming bands and clutches look ok it's going in the car tis week. Only has 30k on it but it's been sitting since 1969....

Nice buy ya got there! I saw it too and gave it some thought, seemed like a great price.
I'd check to see if it's got the right pistons first though, I figured if I bought it I'd be budgeting for the correct pistons from Wiseco.

Ok, The Turbo Drive FMX in my '60 is not healthy. So I'm thinking that replacing it with a C6 might be a good idea. Bear in mind this car gets used a LOT and sees use in lots of stop and go traffic here in the NYC area. I'm also worrie about finding someone in the North Jersey area who can even rebu...
