sorry for the late response here, but no, no signs of damage. i inspected under most of the rocker arms and no discoloration or scoring, and no other damage, either. got lucky!

well i got it all back together. thats what it was. when i pulled the heads, there they were- upside-down head gaskets. runs great now after a valve job and a new holley 4160. thanks, guys

its actually Neil Young's project. the only thing i'll say is that at least he preserved its originality except for the whole electric thing. its really a nice looking car. at least he didn't plaster signs and such all over it or paint it funky.

ahh, ok, thanks. is adjusting the bands on the edsel ford/merc-o-matic the same as adjusting the dual range?

Am I correct in thinking that this is the same tranny that the 1958 Edsel had, just renamed? Same as Mercury, too, right?
