Not sure as I don't have a book on them but the numbers look like it was for a full size car with a stick, three on the tree,O/D or 4spd.Someone here may have the correct application but it is a 600 cfm.

Hi Bill,

According to the two books I have, this was used on 1964 Galaxies with 390's.It also shows only used with automatic.I don't know why kickdown is omitted.

Happy New Year to you and
Family.How's the Falcon
Coming?

the kickdown is done with a bellcrank on the intake, nothing to hook up at the carb.

Yeah, older ones don't have kickdown on the carb

The throttle linkage at the back of the intake had the kickdown attached to it not the carb. Hawkrod

Thanks guys! I'll probaly put it on a stick anyway

December 29 2008, 7:46 AM

I have a T-85N OD and a 3.70 chunk sitting around. This would go pretty good with a "cruiser" 390, 9:1 or so with a mild cam. Or I could find a bellcrank and a cruiso kickdown rod if I wanted an auto. Should be a very nice road setup with the 3.00s and the auto which would be a C-6. My son and I are thinking about a trip from MO to CA in the Galaxie. A few more upgrades, electronic ignition, etc..

I also need to find a stock wide 1" 4 hole spacer that blocks the whole bottom of the carb to prevent vacuum leaks and provide a PCV port. I hope to run across one at a swap meet. If anyonme has a picture of the bellcrank and kickdown rod it would also be a big help for my son who is my eyeballs these days.

Thanks!

In '65 they went to a cable throttle with the kickdown to the carb

December 29 2008, 8:11 PM

It must have been the year on the full size where that appeared. I don't really care for the cable throttle linkage. I wonder if the T-bird pedal bellcrank linkage would work? It just looks more solid. The kickdown on the Mustang has a rod and a short cable to run the kickdown, all from the bellcrank. I wonder if I could use a small block Mustang setup welded to a plate fit an FE?

Its a nice carb, but I am going to kit it anyway. Who has top quality kits? No offshore crap, good carb kits.
