Normally Xmas isn't that happy a time for me... but this year was different. I was at my brothers watching the snotlickers open and try to break their presents and commented to my little niece "I bet he'll get stuck" pointing to the guy just leaving in a ridiculously huge Chevy 4x4. She looked at me like i'm nuts.
Lo and behold a few minutes I was howling with laughter and snapping pictures at the spectacle of two guys trying to push the stuck Chevy before the one de-iced his truck and towed it out. About a half hour elapsed with me cheering every step of the way. Afterwards I decided I needed to re-park the Aerostar so I drove right over where he was stuck and backed up and turned around.
LOL! He was stuck on a 1% slope? What was the deal?

He should have about 14 PSI in those tires, maybe his 4x4 was broken.
I used to drive my wifes Mazda RX7 to Tahoe to go skiing with here before we bought a 4x4! It went just fine in the snow, so long as the slow was not pushing over the bumper, as that would float the entire car!

A guy was stuck a few doors down with his Jeep Grand something or other. I was shovelling my driveway at the time and was pretty amazed. About an hr. later I drove out no problem in my Windstar van with old all season radials.
I'm convinced it's more the driver (or lack thereof) than the vehicle.
Hardly any slope. It was spinning just one rear... non posi and either had no way to lock the front hubs or the full time 4WD wasn't working. Pathetic!
This was near Dale's place, I should have brought the oil pan. You guys have a lot less snow than here.
I've had some chuckles watching the gong show during our little storm. But, I have been driving a beater Land Rover Discovery that was loaned to me. My truck is in Texas. This heap has nearly worn out street tires (car) and just putts through any mess and up any hill so far-including the closed and barricaded ones. Now, it has no brakes to speak of so the downhill sections are a sleigh ride. Might be tires or it might have something to do with the noise from the left rear. The anti-lock goes off resulting in zero braking.
I am also impressed by the rear suspension. The thing just squats and gets it while easily dealing with bumps that might break my neck in my truck.
The bad news is the Rover only has 119K on it and it rattles and creaks endlessly. It is just about ready for the bone yard. And it looks so friggin gay due to all the yuppies that own them. They have image problems in my opinion. But they do the job. People that own them might be posers but the rig isn't posing. Real deal unlike the big chebby truck.
