to hurt a guy! That's BEAUTIFUL!!! Mine shows all the results of three times around the 'clock'. I'm not a 'show' sort of guy, and would be happy if I could just get rid of the rust. It's not terrible, and I'll ultimately get there. Right now, it has a Volare front susp. and Omni power R&P. Powertrain---not in---is a '64 PI 390/C-6. To really satisfy me, it'll need a truss-type tube frame and a 4" chop. (Sooner or later!)

The back-end shot particularly hurts. If I hadn't seen another one once, I'd think there were no such thing as a tailgate for an ICB! KS

All three of my oldies are local cars (Phoenix). I won't deal with rust. Getting harder to find though lots of wheeler dealers out here ship them back to you guys.
Your front end sounds neat. I've seen the Volare swap but it seems as tho you've found a way around that huge steering box. I've never seen the Omni rack. Pictures?
Have a nice day, Curt...

buried under 'stuff' that takes up too much of my garage at present. The Omni R&P is actually too wide and I had to shorten the tie rods to make it fit. The engine was already installed when I got the truck---using an aftermarket tubular crossmember to take the motor mounts. I simply built a pair of small stiff 'outriggers', extending back from the tube, to mount the rack. (Adjust with shims to deal with bumpsteer.) You're right---the Volare steering box is iron and about the size of your head. I cut the mounts off the K-member with a plasma cutter and then trimmed down the remaining welds with a whizzer and a disc grinder. And I put small extensions on the frame so as to be able to bolt on the K-member. Used 5/8ths SS all-thread to make the bolts and replaced the A-arms with tubular circle track pieces.

I have another - earlier - magazine article that seems different?

I seem to recall the orginal owner sold the truck to the present owner? The truck was pulled from a car port where it had sat for several years, then loaded on a trailer. Its great that it has been rediscovered and is available for viewing instead of hibernating in limbo.
I have no interest in the vehicle other than to see if the "credit" for saving the truck all these years is being given to the original owner or the last one that rescued it from it from obscurity.
