NHRA factors a 2 door hardtop with the 425 horsepower 427 at 8.14. What is the Super Stock class that it fits in with that factoring? I don't have an NHRA rules book so I can't look it up myself. Thanks guys

They usually run them in SS/C. You can alter the weight to move up or down a class,i've seen them in SS/D but never in B. I think E is a single 4V ... Stephen Johnson oughta know.

Come on out

Enjoy the fun we are having..lol, You can run the 66-67 fairlane in SS/B but it will be extremely light, its better to run that combo in B with an alum head. Its hard to get a 66-67 to the weight of a SS/B car with cast iron head. We're testing SS/C weight this weekend. Rusty is right about the weight breaks!!! Really SS/E is a better combo with the single 4, and if you can get your car light enough run D with the single 4, its even BETTER!! SS/D is really tough right now.....dayum chevies!!!! lol

I've got to get back in the swing of things again...

November 27 2008, 12:34 PM

Over the winter I'm going to start researching combinations and see what fits my car the best. With a steel headed 351C and a Jerico it tripped the scales at 3250 with me in it. I'm guessing that the 351C should be close in weight to an aluminum headed 427. I've been out of racing for over 10 years so I have a lot of catching up to do. I need to get my NHRA membership back in good standing and start going over the 2009 rulebook when its released. Thanks again for all the help guys!!
