toploader question

Did they ever make a wide ratio toploader with the big input. Like the 2.78 low gear in 1966 Fairlane GT but thought it would be stronger with the big input.

Ford, yes they did

For the race program, just not in production.

D0OX-7003-G HEH-FG and D0ZX-7003-R HEH-GG for the 2.74 1st.

They also made 2.54, 2.22, 2.13, 2.02, 1.84 and 1.76 1st gear.

Also a handful of 2.92 1st gear.

I've got a 2.54 and a 2.92 T&C big in big out in each of my Thunderbolts, so they do exist.

The 2.54 I found at a swap meet and the 2.92 was a JPC special.

because the gears are all interchangable. The big in/big out trans is totally the same when it comes to the gears . . so it is very possible to build one your self.
