hello john, gopher down here in georgia. quick question. i'm thinking of putting my 390 back in my 63. going to use stock heads with cj valves,.030 over, 406 ex manifolds. in trying to get a good cam i need info on ford cams.what is the power range on the 390/406 ford cam? i found some specs on a crane f 294cam that they claim is a replacement 427 ford cam.they give 3000 to 6500. i'm looking for a solid that is from maybee 1500 to 6000 is this doable or a pipe dream.i'm planning to use a f427 manifold with a 4100 carb or a tri powr with autolite 2100 carbs. trying to get decent performance while still geting reasonable gas milage....i guess its basicly what you and i were talking on your merc when i was up there at the woodward cruise. thanks......gopher........rember where i come from that was a quick question....lol...
