Anyone on here ever put a FE in a 67' Falcon?
I'm in the process of installing a CJ with toploader
with crites headers, mounts and Z-bar.
Would appreciate lessons learned or problems
you encountered.

Best,
mike

easy

It all bolts in with 66-69 Fairlane and Comet parts. Years ago there used to be a 66 Falcon "390GT" around here that appeared factory stock. The guy made it from a wrecked 66 Fairlane GT and put everything in a six banger 66 Falcon. The engine bay looked like a stock Fairlane and everything from the rad brackets and clutch linkage to battery tray looked like a bolt in. The console and seats and door panels all fit and it had the Fairlane GT hood louvers and fender emblems.

It is exactly the same as a Fairlane

66 and newer Falcon shares the front subsection with the Fairlane/Torino 66-69 so anything for a Fairlane/Torino fits. Also, Fairlane/Torino rearend bolts in too if you want a 9". Hawkrod

FE Falcon

If you want to read A great article on this swap get a copy of the Falcon Performance Portfolio. The final story is called " You could Do This Swap With Your Eyes Shut" and outlines taking all the parts off an FE Torino and putting them into a 1969 Falcon. If even gives the Ford part numbers.

to a Falcon station wagon. Just use the parts from a '66-'69 Fairlane.

It's easy.

I Didn't have to drill one hole....

October 21 2008, 4:02 AM

It was an automatic so the only thing I had to cut was the shift linkage ear off the column to clear the clutch rod/Z bar. 69 Fairlaine 9" rear and all the BB brackets bolted right in. 69 428 CJ hooker super comp 6113, 4 speed toploader. Left the engine pretty much at CJ specs. Heavy duty Torino wagon front springs and the sway bar required using the short oil filter. Plan on installing sub frame connectors. It Goes like the wind.
