"Year of the Cammer" Stub Cams from Bill Coon

Bill Coon is producing new stub cams for the cammer.

The new Stub Cams are made from 8620 steel with propper heat treat.

The new Stub Cams will feature a new improved key and keyway, yet still work with factory Ford gears as well as Bills new gears.

The new Stub Cams will feature more precise machining of the shaft.

The new Stub Cams, when paired with Bills new gears will have a modification to improve oiling to both chains.

I have listed an identical post with price and order contact information in the classifieds.

Roger

Stupid question but, ............

October 20 2008, 3:06 PM

why cant an old cam be used with the last journals cut off? Sorry, Ive only seen these motors internals from pictures, but it looks {from the pictures} like a regular cam that is cut into two parts after the first two journals, what am I missing? Does it have a key instead of a dowel pin?..........Mike U

Stub cam

The SOHC stub cam has a stub sticking out the front about 1/2" dia and about 1-2" long that goes thru the timing cover. This is necessary to support the shaft when the chains are on it, RWJ

Technical details are requested.

October 20 2008, 6:48 PM

It has been brought to my attention that this post sounds a bit much like an advertisement. The reason is it contains several comments (proper heat treat, more precise, improved oiling) without technical detail.

I am sure you've received technical detail from Bill on why improved heat treat, etc, is beneficial. Can you add technical content which overrides the sales value of this post.

Note that if a post reads the same in the tech forum as in the classifieds, it may not contain enough technical content.

Thanks,
Shoe.
