LOKAR Oil Dipstick

Hi Guys,

I have read here before that Lokar oil dipsticks are good stuff so I went and got one for my 390; in a mild 62 tbird.

I had no luck installing a standard tube into car (broke it!!) and was using the original tube without being attached to block (a floater).

The Lokar is a very nice item but there were no instructions on how to install it. Could someone here chime in with what is the best way to install the tube, given the limited space with the oil filter adapter base and the fact it goes into the block at 60 degrees or more?

Thanks a lot. Graeme (Australia)

The Lokar installs the same as the original. The end of the tube goes into the dipstick hole in the block and the main body of it can be shaped to fit around any obstructions. The tab to secure it to the engine can be moved and retightened to align with whatever you wish to bolt it to. Do a dry alignment first and get the tab and bends where you want them then apply some silicone to the tube where it enters the block to prevent any leaks. Avoid any sharp bends so that the dipstick can easily be removed and reinserted.

Thanks for that Jesse, was not keen on filing some of it away but you have allayed some fears!
