Can anybody tell me how to hook 1 up on my 65 gal. I picked 1 up at the pick-n-pull today, took all the wires I could from the alt to regulator and even grabbed the reg while in there. It's a 100amp from a '89 3.0 taurus, It's even a fresh rebuild case is still shiny and stickers are still white like it was just put on before the wreck check out great at parts store on tester. Best of all I only paid $27.00 for a $140.00 dallor part.
Thanks in advance Donnie

You should have no trouble mounting it. The one thing about mine is that it squeals on startup even with the belt tensioned correctly.

Looks good Jason, I'm mounting mine down, is there a reason you don't have the fan on? mine lines up with the fan but I'm using the smaller fan from my original. I do have to make a longer bracket for adjuster mines about 2" to short other than that it fits good.

Based on the instructions above, I think there must be a fan inside the alternator. n/m

Simple

Looking at the back of the alternator, you see the big terminal that goes to the battery on the far left, a single terminal in the middle, and a plug on the right with three wires.

On my car, I simply...

1. Jumped the plug's left wire over to the big battery terminal.
2. Jumped the plug's middle wire to the single middle terminal.
3. Jumped the plug's right wire to a wire that gets powered when the ignition is turned on. (ignition wire on the solonoid)

THAT'S IT!

I was able to stick the old pully on there without any grinding or spacers. I was able to use the stock brackets without having to modify them. EASY swap. A 3G should look like the ones in the picture, and do NOT have an external voltage regulator. (I took all that off of my car too.) They have an internal fan, so an external one is not used. It does not squeal, and charges GREAT, even at idle with ALL the electric accessories turned on... and my car has a tiny 4-1/2" moroso underdrive crank pulley!

HIGHLY recommended modification.
